Service is in my blood. Both of my parents served in the United States Army. My father served on active duty at Fort Hood and in the Texas Army National Guard from 1979 to 2014, while my mother served from 1979 to 1989 before transitioning to a career as a cardiovascular specialist in Central Texas.After graduating from Leander High School in 1998, I chose to follow in my parents' footsteps and enlisted in the U.S. Army. I served as a paratrooper at Fort Bragg and later as a LAN Systems Administrator at the Defense Intelligence Agency in the Pentagon. In the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, I was proud to play a key role in our national security during one of our country's most pivotal moments.<h3>Protecting What Matters Most</h3>Since leaving the military, I have built a career in cybersecurity. Today, I am a Cybersecurity Architect at Dell Technologies, where I lead initiatives to secure data, protect critical infrastructure, and ensure compliance with privacy laws. Whether I am defending our nation in uniform or defending our technological infrastructure in the private sector, my mission has always remained the same: protect what matters most.Beyond my professional life, I’ve stayed active in my community and the democratic process:<ul><li>Democratic Precinct Chair: Served in Tarrant County.</li><li>Human Relations Committee: Worked to foster community equity.</li><li>2008 Presidential Delegate: Represented our community during President Obama’s campaign.</li></ul><h3>A Leader Who Listens</h3>Today, I live in Georgetown, Texas, with my wife, Toni. <h2>The Response</h2>(1) Why are you running?<h4>I’m running because working families in Central Texas are doing everything right and still falling behind. I grew up in a military family, served as a paratrooper, and now work in cybersecurity protecting the systems our economy depends on. I’ve spent my life in service, and I believe it’s time for a new generation of leadership focused on lowering costs, protecting our freedoms, and making sure opportunity is real for the people who keep this country running.</h4>(2) What are your goals for the CD 31 office?<h4>My goal is to bring real representative government back to this district. That means being accessible, building partnerships across local, state, and federal levels, and making sure constituents always have a seat at the table. Success looks like delivering real results for veterans, seniors, families, and small businesses while making sure Central Texas continues to grow responsibly and sustainably. Most importantly, I want to hold informative town halls that bring people into the process of government and keep them engaged in the decisions that affect their lives.</h4>(3) I have been&nbsp;sent roughly a dozen documents showing a history of bankruptcy, failure to pay child support, and a protective order against you from your ex-wife. In addition, a former campaign consultant has sued you for non-payment of fees.&nbsp;<h4>Negative campaigns often try to define candidates by the hardest moments of their personal or professional lives instead of the issues voters are facing today. The narrative that has been circulated is false, and documents are being selectively pulled out of context from events many years ago.&nbsp; </h4><h4>I have always and will continue to follow the law, and none of the allegations or documents being circulated resulted in any legal actions against me. My ex-wife and I have long since reconciled, we continue to co-parent successfully, and she openly supports me and my campaign today. </h4><h4>My character is defined by how I live my life. I am a dedicated father, an army veteran, a cybersecurity professional, and someone who has spent his career in service to others. It is through my lived experiences that I am confident in my ability to represent this district. Voters in Central Texas are focused on affordability, healthcare, housing, and protecting our democracy. </h4>(4) What do you think your odds of winning against a longtime incumbent who has President Trump’s endorsement in the General Election?<h4>This district is more competitive than many people assume, especially with Killeen back in. That brings thousands of voters into the conversation who have often felt overlooked. Our campaign is focused on engaging and motivating people who don’t always feel like politics speaks to them and building a broad coalition across the district.&nbsp;I believe this race is winnable.</h4>

Justin Early, U.S. Army veteran and cybersecurity architect, officially filed as a candidate in the Democrat primary for U.S. Congress in Texas’ 31st Congressional District, pledging to fight for working class families and veterans in Washington. Early said he is “focused on delivering lower costs, higher wages, and compassionate, comprehensive support for all.” A cybersecurity specialist with real experience protecting our digital infrastructure, Early said he “brings a unique perspective to the issues of national security, data privacy, and tech innovation.” “Serving my country was the honor of my life,” said Early. “I grew up in a military and working class family where my parents taught me that leadership means listening first, leading from the front, and working across divides to get things done. That is exactly the kind of leadership missing in Congress, and that is what I plan to bring to the people of Central Texas.” “I have seen firsthand how rising costs are affecting families, how veterans are left behind by broken systems, and how small towns are overlooked by career politicians more interested in soundbites than solutions,” Early said. “Congressman John Carter has voted to strip healthcare from 17 million Americans, including 1.6 million Texans, slashed Pell Grant Funding, defunded SNAP food assistance, affecting 3.6 million Texans, and ignored veterans, while VA offices in Central Texas faced layoffs due to the current administration. Early earned a key endorsement, receiving the endorsement of the Texas State Council of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. “This campaign isn’t for the lobbyists or the boardrooms”, said Early. “It’s for the single parent working two jobs to stay afloat, the teacher struggling to afford rent, and the veteran battling red tape at the VA. Voting is a fundamental right, and no boss should stand in the way of workers exercising it.</li><li>Lower taxes for everyday Americans—if you work hard, you shouldn’t pay more than billionaires. To ask not just “can we build it,” but “what happens when it fails.”Right now, artificial intelligence is moving faster than our laws, our infrastructure planning, and our public oversight. And Texans are already paying the price.Across Central Texas, large-scale data centers are expanding rapidly to support AI and cloud computing. These facilities bring real economic activity, but without clear rules, they also bring real risks to our power grid, our water systems, and our national security.AI in the wrong hands is dangerous and scary. Some AI systems have already caused harm, like advising a child on how to hurt themselves. This madness must stop! AI should help us, not hurt us. When elected this November, I will pass legislation to:<ul><li>Ensure AI is never allowed to control robots or machines that could harm people. Robots should serve humanity, not endanger it. I’ll fight to keep dangerous AI systems in check and ensure human oversight is always required.</li><li>Ban AI from deciding when to launch nukes—this should always remain in human hands. No algorithm should have the power to end lives or start wars. I’ll work to ensure these decisions are made by accountable human beings.</li><li>Prohibit AI from making life-or-death decisions, like deciding who to shoot or harm. AI weapons are a threat to everyone’s safety. I’ll fight to keep Americans safe from this technology.</li><li>Hold billionaires accountable to explain why AI systems behave the way they do. When AI makes mistakes or causes harm, we deserve answers. I’ll ensure tech companies are transparent and accountable for their creations.</li><li>Prevent AI from ever becoming ‘alive’—we must not gamble with the consequences of sentient AI. Let’s draw a clear line: AI should serve humanity, not threaten it.</li><li>Regulate the use of AI in hiring and employment decisions. AI systems used to screen job applicants often reinforce bias and discrimination. I’ll fight to ensure hiring practices are fair and transparent.</li><li>Protect Americans’ privacy from AI-driven surveillance. AI is increasingly used to monitor people’s activities, often without their consent. I’ll work to safeguard your right to privacy in the digital age.</li><li>Ensure AI is not used to manipulate elections or spread disinformation. AI-powered bots and deepfakes are being weaponized to undermine democracy. I’ll fight to protect free and fair elections from these threats.</li><li>Establish ethical guidelines for AI development and deployment. AI should be developed responsibly, with clear rules to prevent harm and ensure it benefits society as a whole.</li><li>Invest in education and training to prepare Americans for an AI-driven economy. As AI transforms industries, we must equip workers with the skills they need to thrive in the jobs of the future.</li><li>Support research into AI safety and accountability. We need to understand the risks of AI and develop safeguards to prevent unintended consequences. I’ll push for funding to study and address these challenges.</li><li>Ensure AI is used to enhance, not replace, human creativity and decision-making. AI should be a tool to empower people, not a substitute for human ingenuity or judgment.</li></ul>We regulate aviation so people trust flying.We regulate food so families trust what they eat.Smart, modern rules for AI and digital infrastructure are about trust, not fear.<h4>We can embrace innovation while protecting our communities. What we cannot afford is leadership that treats AI like a talking point instead of a responsibility.</h4>

Immigration should be fair, just, and reward hard work. America’s success depends on hardworking immigrant families, and we must treat them with dignity. When elected this November, I will pass legislation to: <ul><li>Protect immigrants and naturalized citizens from extremists who threaten to strip them of their rights. No American—natural-born or naturalized—should fear losing their citizenship due to unconstitutional policies pushed by extremists like Stephen Miller.</li><li>End the cruelty of family separation policies. No child should be torn from their parents in the name of politics or deterrence. I will ensure families are treated with humanity and dignity.</li><li>Provide a clear and fair pathway to citizenship for those pursuing legal immigration. The current system is filled with delays, uncertainty, and arbitrary barriers. I’ll work to streamline the process and give immigrants the clarity they deserve.</li><li>Ensure that legal immigrants on the path to citizenship are protected from exploitation and abuse. No one should have to live under constant fear while contributing to our communities and economy.</li><li>Defend the constitutional rights of naturalized citizens. Citizenship should never be treated as conditional or revocable based on political whims. I’ll fight to protect the rights of all Americans.</li><li>End the use of private detention facilities for immigrants. Detaining people for profit is inhumane, unaccountable, and unacceptable. I’ll work to ensure humane alternatives that respect human rights.</li><li>Protect Dreamers and other vulnerable immigrant communities from deportation. Those brought to this country as children deserve the chance to stay in the only home they’ve ever known. I’ll fight to make protections permanent.</li><li>Overturn Trump-era policies that weaponized immigration enforcement against communities of color.
